Hi, I just recently picked up this hobby again after about 30 years. I was going through my garage a few weeks ago and found my old penny and nickel collection from when I was a kid. Also found my silver dimes and quarters, and my 1896 (well-worn) Morgan. A recent injury side-lined me from my previous hobby of playing baseball (and forced me into an early athletic retirement - my dreams of playing 2B for the Dodgers are now gone forever).
Here's my question; I recently bought a Peace dollar and a Morgan dollar and they each arrived in little round plastic cases. I'd like to get them out because I have always liked to handle my coins and get a good look at them, but I just can't seem to get the little buggers open. The coins are not graded, and I sincerely doubt either would grade over about 20, so I'm not concerned about decreasing value by handling them. Before I attack them with my wide assortment of hand- and power-tools, could anyone offer a suggestion on how to get them out with a little more finesse? Thanks, -John

Yes, sounds like AirTite brand holders, they offer excellent protection. You should leave them in there! If you do remove them, it's very easy with either a fine, flat-head screwdriver or a one sided razor. Just stick it into the small gap on the edge and twist.
