I went in to deposit my coin jar the other day and the Coinstar at grocery I usually used reported that the Gift Card option was not working. I then went to the next store down the road and ran my coins through after selecting the gift card option and after it was done sorting it took a few minutes and then reported that the gift card option wasn't working and gave me a cash voucher with no fee. The clerk at the service counter had never seen that before...

Both machines however had some change in the return slot. The first store had a Canadian dime and a US nickel while the second one had a clad Half and a US dime.

Stopped by Kroger last night. One coinstar was empty. The other had one copper cent, one zinc cent, and one clad dime. Not really an amazing find...however, after finding a full roll of 40% halves at the bank yesterday I was still more than satisfied.

Found around $1.00 each in the two Coinstar machines near the barbershop yesterday. Stuck in the middle of a rotting zincoln clump was a lovely 1960-D dime.

Interesting. Seems like the right thing to do on Coinstar's part.

There is only one store with a CoinStar machine in it by where I live. Either nobody uses it or there are other people constantly checking it (probably somebody that works there) because I've never found anything.

It is all a matter of timing. Last week I checked in the way into the store (empty) and after we finished our shopping found some stuff in the return, so it had obviously been used in the 20 minutes or so we were there.

I walked past my local CoinStar machine today and saw something gleaming in the reject tray, which is quite a rare sight. On closer inspection the 'hoard' was disappointing - four recent British pennies. All were in decent condition, so I've no idea why the machine rejected them.

I found an above average toned 1959 Lincoln Cent at the grocery store's CoinStar machine today, not sure why it was rejected, but I will not complain. :D
