Had my first coinstar find in a while today at the grocery store. A very nasty Lincoln Cent with a bunch of white corrosion on it. Free money though.
Congratulations!

Found a 1964 Quarter in a soda machine coin return at mall of america today. I'm guessing the machine wouldn't accept it so they just left it in there? Not sure but it's mine now

Nothing at Walmart or Kroger again but did find a 2014 dime in Walmart's parking lot. I'll take it.

Here is a good one.
I finally opened an account at a TCF bank because they have a coin counter that is free for customers. (8.9% for non-customers)
Was making my first run and I checked the reject before I began. The machine got a little jammed and I reached in to rattle the reject bin.
Out came an Ike and a cent.
I am 100% certain that I did not have any Ikes nor cents. I was dumping halves only. There is also a sign above the machine stating that it does not accept Ikes!
Additionally, when the machine first began running it counted .02 before the first half dropped in.
A Canadian .10 and a British 5 pence were sitting in the (otherwise empty) trashcan next to the machine.
Was a good day!

Coinstar finds at Wallie World.MI. All in the same reject bin. Go figure?
! cent Euro Spain
10 U.S. dimes all clad no silver
2 U.S. nickels no silver
14 U.S. cents
3 Canadian dimes no silver
1 Canadian 5 cent
1 copper slug
Interesting finds but. why did the machine reject the U.S dimes, nickels and cents?

Nice finds!

Never sure why the seemingly good ones get rejected. Maybe they are going in too fast and not sorting properly.

The machine that I used today initially rejected about 5% of the 2000 halves that I fed it. It accepted all of them eventually. Some after a few tries.
My assumption, the machines are designed for speed, and if they can't verify a coin within the 1st millisecond, they reject it.

Sounds plausible.
