WOW, BigAppleBucky! You found a 1938-S Lincoln Cent in a Coinstar? That's a REALLY difficult one to find in circulation... amongst 1934-date Lincolns (not including Small Dates and other varities), that coin, along with the 1939-D are the two toughest ones to find. That's crazy good! And yes, TJLang, my steel cent was a steal... for free!  CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Coin counter reject tray in one bank held 2 Canadian nickels and 2 Canadian quarters last Friday...Better than nuttin'.

My 2 month long drought is finally over, and two days in a row I found little combinations of copper and nickel!
Monday I stopped in my local grocery and found a genuine real US nickel (worth at least 5 cents!) from 2015 in the CoinStar reject bin. The very next day I found both a genuine US dime (1996) and an equally real US Quarter (2014), worth a total of 35 whole cents!
I am now 40 cents (US) richer so today I put this new found wealth into a redneck financial investment note. I will find out Friday night whether this was a good investment or not when they draw the numbers in the Mega Millions.

This happened last week....From a distance, I saw something unusually shiny in the reject tray. I usually will walk right by and grab the coins out of the Coinstar without any shame. But there were several store employees milling about and, for some reason, they had blocked the machine with two shopping carts full of returned items. But it looked so shiny from afar. I knew I had at least one dollar in change on me. I pushed the carts aside, said "Excuse me" and put my own change into the Coinstar- just to be able to grab whatever it was that caught my eye.
I didn't check the reject tray until I was done with my less than two dollar transaction-but when I did, I couldn't believe it! A cr2016 battery!

Very Very slow on the coinstar front. Many empty reject trays. This is my first find in quite some time.  |
