Dry spell for silver since June 27. But that date and again today I found a quarter. Dimes are so much more common, but I'll take the quarter.

Looks like the regular nickel went through a fire. There was some pink toning on the War Nickel that didn't image very well.

Somebody went to Iceland. I thought that the 5 aurar piece from 1960 was interesting.

And some dogs and cats. I can tell that the flattened cent was a copper memorial.

My wife made and incredible scoop today. Two days ago I found $0.56 in common US coins. Today she found $0.41 in US coins and all this stuff, including a 1940 silver Canadian dime.

Someone went to Iceland in my last post here, now it's Switzerland. Exactly 8 Swiss Francs which at the exchange rate of US$1.01 to 1 Franc equals $8.08. Amazing

Nice finds Big Apple Bucky - BTW, the 1963 half franc is silver.

Now you have to go to Switzerland to spend your cache.

Thanks(!!) for the info.

Now I have to dig through my foreign coin jar which is far from empty. :)

BTW, I found my first CoinStar half dollar (1974) ever today along with a clad dime. Heck of a hot streak. Maybe folks are coming back from summer trips.

Update - Oops. That's actually a 1968. I searched through a pretty big jar of coins and found all the Swiss coins I had. None as old as 1963. But when I looked at the '68 in the right light, it looked like a '63. The image was the problem.

Nevertheless, I'm looking at some older coins from that jar now, just to be certain they aren't silver.

At least I separated Canadian, Euros, and British coins out from the rest a couple of months ago, or I would have had an even bigger job.

Update 2:

Checked about 10 coins. Found one with silver. A 1960 1/10 guilder from the Netherlands Antillen. It's really tiny.

Nice finds!

I am skeptical of the 1943 copper cent, of course.
