Thanks, cabowabo... and nice finds Pancake and Glenmore...

As for me, been doing a lot more Coinstaring of late.... this past Monday, one of my local supermarkets' reject bins had a pile of about 10 coins... mostly cents and quarters... well, one of the quarters turned out to be a goodie!

Other than my pre-Christmas bonanza a couple years back, silver quarters have been a rare bird for me. So nice to get this 1953 Philly, my 2nd silver quarter (1st was a 1964 Philly 3 months ago) of the year.

Nice quarter, john77!
Nothing so good for me, but last night I dropped by a supermarket I hadn't visited for ages and found a 1983 pound coin! No longer legal tender but I can still deposit it in my bank account!

So, I walked into a Wal-mart and saw the Coinstar, and thought I'd give it a look. I've never seen this many coins in there before.
US currency

Dimes- 2020P, 2012P, 1996P, 1996D
Pennies- 2019, 2000, 1996D, 1983 with cool bluing

Aruban Florin
50c- 2001, 1999
25c- 2019
5c- 2016

Swedish Kronor
10kr- 1993 (current exchange rate 10kr=$1.16)

And, two tokens.

I'd have to say, this is the most eclectic find I've had!

Happy hunting!

(I'm having trouble uploading a pic, despite pic being 284.7kb. I'll switch browsers and see if that helps.)

Good haul, BostonCornhusker!

I had a more modest haul today from my local Coinstar - two current British 5p pieces and two French 2-eurocent coins!

Today was the first time in a very long time that I found anything in the grocery CoinStar. It was .12, one dime and Two Cents. I could see immediately why they were rejects. The cents were pretty beat up, scraped and what not. The dime was "kind of" beat up. But upon closer inspection I noticed separation of the clad layer on the sides. The obverse was kind of flat. When I turned it over what I saw really made me think this was looking more like something something that came from the mint. There is a clear, well-defined depression on the reverse. I think, unlike environmental damage where the details would be damaged, the details appear to be intact but with something that was in the die when struck or the die was damaged. Below are photos that I hope will someone could tell a little more.
