Went to 2 Coinstars today. #1- 1941 penny (this was at Walmart, the Coinstar that hasn't had anything until now!) #2- 2 clad dimes. One had gum on it, but the other was rejected for no apparent reason.

Ended my 6 month silver drought yesterday with a dime. Actually, I've hardly found anything in two months and then Wednesday and Friday picked up some things in three different machines. Within the last two weeks my wife has found a 1941 quarter and a 1943S nickel in change and I've had a 1918 cent in change. Amazing how streaky this is. Sorry about the reverse of the penny. Looks like that '87 cent spent some time in a dryer.

Well, I went to dump my bag of pennies yesterday. Unsurprisingly, I wound up having to have them open the machine to swap the bags. While they were doing that I got to peruse the reject bin for the machine. I picked up $2.45 from that - nothing stand out - in a mix of loose change and a dollar bill. I also found this thing, the only interesting thing of the bunch: a 1973 Calgary Stampede dollar. Not entirely sure what it actually is, but it's neat.

One Coinstar today, dumping mechanism was left in mid-air which is a good sign, had 2 dimes. Hoping for silver, but they were a 2000 P that was rejected for no apparent reason, and a 1978 that's been through some chemical so I could see why that might be rejected. Strangely, I've noticed that money is often left behind when the dumping mechanism is in mid-air, probably because the user is hasty to dump their coins and get cash. Free money is still free money though!

Well, went to the bank to dump some pennies and halves, fount four cents either in the reject bin or sitting on the counter, and one 2001 Year of Volunteers Canadian dime on the floor. There was also a button. I left the button alone.

Skunked on Coinstar today. I should've known that someone getting an Amazon card with their coins isn't gonna leave a penny behind...

Went early on a Sunday morning and found $3.49, all non-silver. A full $3 in quarters (1 Canadian), 4 dimes, and 1 Canadian nickel. The 4 pennies were not wheats.
Made me wonder why so much regular change didn't get picked up by the system. I needed two hands to take it all out. I was at first bummed I didn't get silver, but then realized I could buy 1 or 2 silver coins with what I found!
