After another long dry spell I found a Canadian nickel (1968), a Canadian dime (1976) and a Canadian quarter (1976). Nothing special other than they are all pure nickel and Canadian (my favorite).
Before I sold off my collection I had pretty much a complete Canadian circulation set from 1900 on, minus some really high-value stuff I couldn't justify getting. Due to its completeness I got a premium on it from what I expected when I sold it. Now I have a starting point to complete it!

I have had a very long dry Coinstar spell, but yesterday I was in a supermarket I only use occasionally, and had a look in their Coinstar reject tray. I saw a single, silver-colored coin. Expecting a 5p, I pulled out a 1997 Swiss 10-rappen! This is the coin that holds the record for having been struck for the longest time (since 1879) with no change in the alloy or design.

Found a lone 1945-S Mercury dime in the reject tray at the local Coinstar today! Only the second silver ever found in a Coinstar for me. Also the first silver at this particular Coinstar.

Congrats to all on their finds. I'm still in the midst of my worst drought ever... did manage to find 5 pennies in a CoinStar yesterday... first anything in nearly a month!
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Went to the store in the rain today and remembered that the last time I did that the Coinstar was loaded. Today did not disappoint. $1.27 and a car wash token. It's supposed to rain again tomorrow so I'm going back!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
