I was dumping at my local credit union and saw a few coins in the reject tray. A normal dime, a 1926 D Wheat cent and a 1866 nickel!!

After weeks of nothing - my first Safeway Coinstar find: 1946 Roosevelt dime. It's not much, but I wanted to happy dance when I saw the date. Also got another dime and two pennies with later dates (no varieties or errors that I can see without the microscope).

Went to the store this morning and found Three Cents in the coinstar reject tray (nothing special)... When I went to check out (using self-checkout) there was 2 dimes and a cent sitting in the coin return... Nothing special with those either but hey, free money is always a good thing
Nice finds!

A little better today - went shopping at a different supermarket from usual, where the Coinstar is in a little alcove that's easily overlooked. Saw something in the reject tray - came out with a 2015P Roosevelt dime, a Spanish 2-eurocent and a normal British 5p.

I've walked past these machines for years never knowing there was a reject bin. I saw someone dumping a large container so decided I would swing by and see what he left behind.

7 US quarters, including a 1962
8 US dimes
4 US nickels
9 US Cents
1 Loonie
2 Canadian quarters
3 Canadian dimes
2 Canadian nickels
1 Canadian cent

2001 Great Britain 20 pence
1997 Hong Kong 50 cents
1997 Korea 50 Won

Needless to say, I'll be checking these reject bins every chance I get.

A week or so ago I got a nice handful of stuff. Some beat up American, and a good number of foreign stuff too. My baggie of non-US coins is getting a little heavy.

A heavy bag of foreign coins is a good problem to have.

Yes. I know what most of them are, euro and such. I'll have to take pics next time I get them out.

As I entered my local supermarket today, I noticed a man at the Coinstar... he seemed very protective... I grabbed a dollar out of my wallet as I saw there were coins in the reject tray... he finished with about $110 cashed in... he took his receipt and walked away without even checking the reject tray! I'm now $3.27 richer. No silver or old coins, but still it was cool to pull enough money to effectively get a free "junk" silver quarter when I visited the coin shop today.
