Nope, no names will be named. But Russ and I will change our tactics ... no more early bids. We'll just be there at the end. Another adaptation ... If there's a bid on a listing, I'll check the bidders ID and if I see this persons ID, I'll place that coin on my watch list.

Payback's a xxxxx (joy).

By definition the one I won is a Vam-18 the crack can almost not be seen unless you catch the coin at just that right angle. The bay photos made it look like the 18a, but it is not. The 2011 supplement had a revision of this coin in it. Key word "displacement" was added.

So this is the EDS and the other one I have is the LDS or Vam-18a

here is a link to the coins showing the 2 coins

Russ,

That's too bad. Still, I'm not feeling too sorry for you. An MS61 18 for that price is still a kill!

From what I can see, as well as have been told the EDS is much harder to find in MS. I am to understand this is the 3rd known with out displacement... and the pre-polished reverse die... So I am Happy!!

I am going to tell you that you are lucky at that price because it would have been at least 100 dollars more (and that's just from myself) than that if I didn't have to pay my settlement to my now ex-wife around the same time this was over. It being graded by ANACS at that grade and there being no question it was at least a 18 or 18a I got a little excited when I saw it
