Dave you called it Vam-18a now I have both the 18 and 18a in MS so my LN set is really done now. This VAM shares an obverse die with a LN 78s and also has the funky-est acid or carvings done on the reverse wings that is way cool. If you are into engravers art!

Here are picks of the V-18 the reverse is just a bit cleaner or sharper then the Vam-18a

Very cool variety. I take it the wing feather detail was polished away at one point and this was someones attempt to fill in the gap?

Russ,

It was a good thing the grandkids consumed my afternoon yesterday. It was on my watch list and I placed the initial bid on it. I believe I was jogging behind the five-year old in his electric Mustang when this one closed.

I believe the winning bid was $138 and change.

Congrats Russ!

SeatedNut, I'm willing to bet we'd know his name if your stalker were to reveal himself, either from here or VW.

Nice score, Russ, but we're kinda getting used to that with you.

The stalker is NOT me. I did not bid on this coin but was watching it. Nice grab Russ. Noel

not me either as I also had it on the watch list but never planned on bidding on it but knew what it was and thought it would have a bidding war at the end since it was so easy to see and it was already graded by ANACS and was worth a look to see what it would go for

Oh, we know who it is now.

No names will be named. I don't think it's as much "stalker" as "mutual interests," and it's not worth hashing out.
