No varieties/errors Mercury dimes collectors should be left without one of this year in their collection, this is another great find for me on ebay, condition is likely cleaned at some point in time, but to find one that's in earlier die stage is getting real difficult.

There are no known markers, but I have find that most better conditions one have these circular die wear/fatigue or stress cracks around United State of America, especially the letters STATES OF AM.

The CherryPickers' Guide have this one under value IMO, usually price are higher when it listed on ebay, and goes above guide values. I haven't to date seen one on the Bay that is grade in MS by any TPG.

neat find.

a few questions:

1) what does something like this go for retail?

2) is that a die crack extending through the letters, 'OF AM' on the reverse?

3) does this 'die crack' always accompany this '35 S/S?

thanks,
mdpmedia

I will try to answer the questions you have in reverse order mdpmedia,

3) No. I have one that's in late die stage without the wear, but the lower 'S' is less prominent and not as noticeable.

2) Yes. But not as noticeable, if you look at the third pictures, you will see that it starts of from ONE clockwise.

1) To be honest. I don't have a number, but take a look at the Cherrpickers' guide, and try and get one at those dollar level for one in MS condition. If any one find one let me know, I will gladly pay at that price. NGC census shows 0 graded. PCGS has 4, but I know one isn't in MS, not sure the other 3. ANACS should have some? ICG?
