I hope they dont end this series its 20 for 20 which is great for any coin collector on a budget and with a bigger mintage more people can get them. Some people just don't like them because they cant flip them as easy

I think people have to remember this is a numis coin and not a bullion coin. For a numis coin, it is not a bad price at $20. I prefer this more than their bird series coin which does not contain any silver and sell around $29.99 + tax. Like most of you, I didn't like all the coins in the series but some of them are quite nice. I have no problem selling the one I didn't like at around $25 but then again, I only own 2 or 3 of each coin. I kept the Canoe, the maple leaf and one farewell to the penny coin, I sold the rest. I too hope they continue the series. For those that like 1 oz of silver, maybe you like paying $99 for the 1 oz beaver?

I'm sure 20 for 20 will continue in 2013

I think the series is nice as a surprise, if you will. This was why I really loved the subscription, as I hadn't even found out that the second last one was "farewell to the penny" until I opened the envelope!
I think the mint should consider a perpetual subscription, or at least one that had to be renewed every 6 months. I doubt any of these sell out.
I just got mine today, and it's a very nice looking coin. I think the mirror finish works well on this particular coin, where I felt it was deficient on the Young Queen bust.
I might actually order additional of these for gifts!

What do you mean you doubt any of these sell out. They're all sold out except the reindeer and that will sell out any day now.

This series has been anabsolute hit. Every coin has sold out, and very quickly considering the mintage. It IS just a matter of time before these are all gone as well. I got my shipping confirmation this morning. Not a big fan of this particular coin, or the Diamond Jubilee, but all of the others are quite nice. I'm still onthe hunt for the first in the series at a reasonable price. I'm pretty sure that I'mgoing to have to suck it up and pay the $35-$40 if I want it.

I ended up buying the first one from a dealer and paid $34 - and this was in the summer time! I knew it was overpriced but the other 2 coin shops I called didn't have it so I grabbed it while I could.

I was missing the first 20 for 20 coin too, I managed to snag it off of ebay a few months back for $33, including shipping. That was the lowest I've seen it go in a long time. If you're patient, you should be able to get it for under $35 still. I certainly wouldn't pay over $40 for it.

Just checked a few dealer websites. Two have them for $40 and one has them for $35. Some are sold out. You might get lucky and find one on ebay or Kijiji for less. Private sale is likely your best hope. GL

What is the silver content of these coins? I've read that you can't spend these coins so I'm wondering if it is worth collecting them.
Thanks

The first coin is now around $45-$50 now. I bought 3 last November for $40 each.
