I embarked on some roll hunting and picked up a few half dollar rolls at the local Wells Fargo. Didn't find anything worth more than $0.50, but I noticed on two of the 1973-D coins that the mint marks appeared to be in slightly different locations. One definitley looked about 1/64th inch closer to the neckline. I know that may not seem like much, but I have been in manufacturing for over 20 years, and I guess I tend to notice when things are off by 1/64". I noticed the same thing on two different 1984-D nickels. Is it common for mint marks from the same mint in the same year to vary by fractions of an inch in location? Or am I just seeing things? Thanks, -John
