I purchased this coin for a dollar. I got it because it was cheap and I didn't have any older Indian coins. This is the attribution that came with it:

Denomination: 1 TANKA
Metal: BILLON
Country: India
DYNESTY: DELAHI
RULAR: SIKANDAR SHAH LODHI
PERIOD: AD 1488-1517

Is this attribution correct? I have no clue with this type of coin.

Yes, nearly. Certainly some coins of that type were billon, but like a lot of coin series the word billon covers many sins - I suspect this one may only have a hint of silver - if at all. It's quite a common coin but it's still cool to have something from this era.

Thanks for the confirmation on the attritubion. I figured that the amount of silver was so small it probably didn't matter. I just got it because it was old and I didn't have something like it.

Billon could technically mean silver washed or containing a small amount of mercury. With all the green gunk on it I didn't buy it thinking I was going to make anything off the silver.
