I found this in a roll. On the reverse side the m in unum seems to be doulbed. Can only one letter be doubled? Or is this some other error1978-D-Dime-Reverse-Doubling?

Wow, that is interesting. I haven't seen anything quite like that. Does not look like MD, push doubling or deterioration to me. Interesting that it shows only on the M, in the middle and the eastern leg, and it is so extreme. The dot might be exhibiting some sort of doubling, but the dot looks rather normal to me.

I'm interested to know what others think. Thanks for sharing

I hope we get some input. It would be nicer to have conversation rather than just a link pasted as a reply, without any thoughtful contribution or acknowledgement of your inquiry.

micro, you took some great photos, and you have a good eye. I look forward to what else you may find.

Thanks Drsandman2 for your reply. I went through the site papatony sent and was not able to find anything similar. Of all the dbl dies info on-line there is not one letter dbl I could find. I find this odd and wonder if this is actually a dbl die. I am always looking for definitions of coin finds.

I would like to find further input on what this m in unum could be. I found a site that explained what Tilted hub doubling is. Does anyone know about this and if this dime could be that?
