My Mom found a misprinted penny and the date reads 20n.

Has anyone ever heard of this and how can I determine the value of this penny?

Without a picture, nothing can be said for sure but you almost certainly just have a damaged coin as there is no process that would allow the inclusion of a letter in the date.

The term "misprinted" is a term not used in numismatics.
Once we can see a picture, we'll be able to correctly ascertain what you have :-)

The reason a picture is needed is because there is allot that can happen outside the mint to change the looks of a coin so without a picture we can't determine what is going on nor if it is an actual error or something that someone did outside the mint that would be considered damaged instead of an error. I have never heard of anything like this so a picture is definitely needed before we can give any information on the coin in question

Thank you ALL so much for taking the time to reply. My Mom doesn't live in the same state or have a computer so she is sending me the penny. Once I receive it, I will post a picture :)

Coins are struck, paper is printed.
