I can't wait till they get it cleaned up and show it off more. Hopefully they find some other goodies nearby.

Been to several unearthed Roman ruins in France, Spain, Croatia, and Italy. They are always wonderful to stroll around and use your imagination. Wouldn't you love to take a metal detector around this place?

Wonder if they also had the tradition of tossing coins into a pool of water! Sounds like a metal detector's dream.

Of course. Where do you think our "tradition" came from?

For the ancients, however, it was a much more overtly religious act - offering a gift to the local deity-of-the-spring, or whatnot.

Sounds like a metal detector's dream.

As I'm sure you're all aware of by now, metal detecting is illegal in Turkey.
