I also love the 58 dollar. That said, my current favourite, partly due to another of my hobbies, is the Toronto city map coin from last year. I love the large size, the fine detail of the map, and the selective plating.

I would say the 1949 dollar followed closely by the 1967 dollar.

C'mon kuh_85! Haven't you seen the queen mom? The Mint managed to balance Nixon on the obverse with a non-human primate with a crazy hat on the reverse ... or vice-versa. This coin has the honour of being ugly in any way you look at it!

If there was a thread for the ugliest coin, it should be called "the SECOND ugliest coin."

I never knew about it until it showed up in a cash drawer in the 70's, and it was my birth year!

was that in the states or the provinces? Either way, nice find

I've always had a soft spot for all the centennial coins.

And the '49 dollar.

@t_y: I actually met her once and she was such a sweetheart I'm not going to say anything bad about her coin. :-)

kuh_85, then I would ask you this - do you think that coin is an accurate representation of the person you met?

I love the 1967 Centennial coins (it reminds me of my dear, late Granny and my early coin collecting years!!)

... however, although you dudes think that the Georges rate ... no way ... it's all about the early Vickies, Baby!!

kuh_85: the comment is about the coin not who is depicted.
