I just finished reading the latest edition of
Coin World and a long article by William Gibbs in George T. Morgan 50ΒΆ patterns, what an interesting article I have to say that the nation dollar coin was once considered to be use for minor coinage.
The brief history of Henry Linderman dissatisfaction with the then coinage designs, and thoughts on improving the patterns changes once it was approved, the processes and interruptions by the Barbers, etc. There's images to patterns that I think even a non Morgan collector would like.
