The first one is from Iran but I can't read the date and I don't have my catalog with me.

I am not sure about the second one.

the coin from Iran, the date is at the bottom of the second picture and is hard to read. Can you get a clearer and closer picture? but looks like its from 1972

second coin looks from 1982 or 1983

The square coin is a 500 fils from Iraq, dated 1982. It is composed of pure nickel. It is possible that it was brought home from Iraq by a soldier, but the coin would have had to find it's own way into Iraq for that to happen.

Agree with Fuzzy on the date of Iranian coin (the round one), SH 1351 (= AD 1972).

Sel, I believe it's a typo, 500 fils (the square on) is from Iraq, dated AH 1402/AD 1982
