I would put it at G-VG. IMO to be anywhere fine it really has to have a lot more detail, namely in the crown and face/cheek.

I would go with G but I'm far from an expert. I've been looking at getting one of these for a couple weeks now though because I love the reverse. I've been looking at a ton of the pre decimal commonwealth coins lately lol.

Theyre nice coins that for sure. In this grade you should be able to pick up many dates for very close to silver spot.

I'd be saying VG but that is as high as I'd go. It has to much detail left to be just G when compared to others of that grade.

I'm afraid that coin would only be graded G at best.
To be VG you need to be able to read the "Advance Australia" scroll on the reverse.

An Australian G that is, perhaps they're using the American system where it'd be VG8. This is what an Australian VG looks like (PCGS F12)

thanks wwwww for that photo, over here that's a definite F! could even be stretched by some imagination to a VF! thats the way some sellers sell in local auctions here, that's also why all coins for bid, are available for actual inspection and handling 4 hours before the bidding starts. it's like "buyer's beware, "what-you-see, is-what-you-get"
