Anonymous poll. Did you order? How many did you order?

I ordered one, mostly to be able to have a first-hand look at the set. It was an interesting enough idea to make me curious, and buying one is really the only way for me to check it out down here in the southern US.
As I don't collect Canadian cents, I'm not sure I'm going to keep it long term but I'll make that decision after getting a chance to check out the one I receive.

Good for you commems! I hope you will like it.
One thing that amazes me is how a lot of people always manage to circumvent the ordering limit.

Yes, I've heard of people setting up/using multiple accounts either on their own or through family/friends to help ensure they can maximize their opportunity to purchase the "hot" new releases. It's not something that's new, it's been going on for years. To each, his own. For the most part, I look outside of my hobby for income opportunities. That said, it does appear that a number of folks are having good success in selling the popular new items they purchase from the RCM. To the ambitious go the spoils!

Obviously, non-dealer for-profit flippers must use such tactics if they are going to be in business.

Quote: Obviously, non-dealer for-profit flippers must use such tactics if they are going to be in business. Therein lies the oxymoron - how many of said non-dealers actually claim the profitable gain as income on their taxes as a "business"? My philosophy is if you are going to act like a business, then be prepared to deal with both ends of the stick... Some coin dealers I know get quite irked by some of the larger "non-dealers-for-profit-flippers" out there and even lurk on these sites, just to alert Revenue Canada of another opportunity to collect taxes... The Master's club is flawed in that respect - the limit should be ONE per Master's club member....

If the Master's Club flippers didn't suck up the offerings, do the dealers think the demand would be sufficient to allow the dealers jack up their prices so soon? What will be the initial dealer offering price for the five coin set, and how many times in the first few hours will that price go up?

The dealers have to honour the issue price, until the item is sold out at the Mint... those that don't are bending the rules...

Keeping in mind that when the legit dealers purchase from the mint - they get a discount. Selling the coin at 'listed price' is still an income for them. Once the sell out happens, and demand stays high - then the real profit is for them to reap. And so be it. I have no problem with a business making money on a commodity that is identified. I have a problem with the 'scalper' approach. Buying in bulk to force a sell out only to sell them off at a profit on ebay. I've said it before - there are forums for business interests - this isn't one of them, and I think I'm not alone by the recent comments offered.

Now I know why the Mint set a limit of 3. For me, myself and I.

This Tuesday, Sept. 25, is the date the coins will be available to the public. I wonder how much Gatewest is going to charge for the coins.

Looks like the set will be sold out before general release, so my guess is dealers will sell it for at least $200.

Tomorrow is going to be the general release day for all the penny sets, what time will they be put online? Since the 5 penny set will likely not be in stock at mint.ca, when can Canada Post stores expect to have them in stock? Will dealers have them in stock tomorrow and what time will they likely post them?

What I suggest is keeping an eye on all the sources tomorrow and place the order as quick as you see a 'fair price'. People in west Canada should pay attention to the time difference since most major dealers are in the East. But I doubt Canada post will carry this set somehow...

While history is not always the fore teller of the future, it's all we have. The new coins were posted for MC around 8:30am EST last Tuesday. In the past, they have come on-line at 12:01AM. All we know for sure is that it's sometime on Sept 25th. Despite showing it as 'awaiting stock' during the MC pre-order period, the Mint did offer the Venetian glass bee for a short time period after the general release before it was 'awaiting stock' again and eventually sold out. The Winnipeg dealer offered the GB at issue for a short period and raised the price steadily throughout the first day of general release. The Kitchener dealer did not offer the GB at all on general release. They waited until the Mint marked it as sold out and then offered it at a premium. I don't believe that Canada Post had the GB on-line at all, though they had them at Postal Outlets. Because of the 3 limit, we weren't about to see how many of the 5 penny sets were available to MC. But the 5oz penny was sold at about 30% to dealers etc. before it went on line to MC. That is, only about 950 of the 1500 were available last Tuesday morning. If that ratio holds true for the 5 penny, then we can expect about 1500 to be available tomorrow through the various sources. The best advice had already been given. Quote: What I suggest is keeping an eye on all the sources tomorrow and place the order as quick as you see a 'fair price'. Happy hunting. PS, last I checked, there were fewer than 320 of the 5oz penny and less than 90 of the Carmichael.
