Could someone tell me where I can find an illlustration/photo WITH the M so I can see where it's supposed to be?

The initials MG in the early Elizabeth II strikes, refers to the designer's initials (Mary Gillick). Look on the very bottom of the obverse portrait where the edge of the bust goes down to the fields.

As SPP said, look at the bottom of the queens bust, it should be stamped MG here is a pic of the missing m.
