Found this interesting 1974 Kennedy seems to triple struck in some spots. Ideas?

Wow interesting Kennedy...I would definitely keep the coin...just really learning about errors and doubling but I would say it has a lot of doubling on the coin.

All I see is some Machine Doubling and some damage near the rim. Worth half a buck...

Sorry Dave, Machine Doubling, seriously! I saw you commented on a different kennedy that had a split serif on the S and you said it was doubled. Now I see numerous serifs doubled. Just because its not in the cherrypickers, which I do have, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. All the known errors started with one coin. I havent seen any Machine Doubling with a pickup point and defined lines.

Hello coinseeker, what exactly is LDS? Also for Dave 42 I wasnt asking what it was worth. Its not about the money, thats just a bonus. Its about the thrill of the chase and a good catch. I'm pretty sure most collectors would agree.

LDS is "Late Die State". Means the coin was minted from a worn pair of dies. Can you get some pics of full Obverse and Reverse?

The photo is almost to much of a closeup. Machine Doubling maybe more. The shine and other marks makes it harder to define. Can post another set of pictures and as papatony said obverse and reverse

Thanks, I will get full O and R pics up a little later. The LDS makes sense because there is acrack line across the coin, I'm just curious also about the uniform rings similar to the ones above the eagle. I just jave a good feeling about this one. Thanks Papatony and micro.

Sorry, I'm just not seeing any split serifs, and the doubling I can see is flat and shelf like. The damage or what ever that is near the tops of the letters makes seeing anything there very difficult for me.

The Reverse is showing clear Machine Doubling. I am not seeing any split seriffs with the pictures provided. On the obverse however the photo of the word "GOD" looks interesting to me but you cropped the top of it off. It almost looks doubled but better pictures are definitely needed.

I have no idea what is going on next to the rim on the Reverse...looks like a bunch of small circles.

I think what you have it is VLDS with Machine Doubling.

I stand by my original assessment. VLDS and Machine Doubling. I'm not sure what is going on with the planchet though...Might be struck through something but I am not well versed in those types of errors.
