As you all read, I did not get the Maximianus Carthage Follis because the seller and I could not agree on a price. So, in consolation, I purchased this silvered Maximianus Follis, RIC RIC VI 25b, struck 302/3 AD at Thessalonica: OBV: IMP C MA MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, laureate head right REV: GENIO POPVLI ROMANI, Genius standing left, holding patera & cornucopia, Delta to right, dot TS dot in ex.

Thanks Jerry. I think it has some very good detail plus it still retains some silver wash.

Jw I know you like Carthage you should look at Punic coins...You have a wide variety of types to choose from. Provided you like horse and palm trees.

Well, this coin and one other I purchased from this seller arrived in the mail yesterday. I could not be more pleased. The coin is better in hand than even in the images which show a nice coin. It is a spectacular coin in hand. And it is a large coin as well. The coin is 10.3g, 27mm. The seller is now in my favorites list. Both of the coins are very nice. I will post the other coin in a separate thread. This has got to be one of the best detailed coins I have in my collection!!

Nice when they look better in hand, I've been looking, not finding good looking coins like this for under $100 price tag...
