There's an 1893-S on ebay as well - "UNC from dad's collection" with very similar pictures. I guess it appeals to the optimist.

Once I expanded my screen to like 400% I could actually see it. Its a D with wings. The comet variety? I bet thats worth at least twice the normal price.
