Anyone buy or sell coins on this auction website? Any opinions compared to ebay or other auction websites?

I have bought several coins without any issues. The sales fees are reasonable but haven't used them. nlp

I bought a total of five coins from Great Collections and am quite satisfied with all four. Including the buyer's premium I got four of the five at prices below market retail and the fifth at full retail. They will work with you if you don't have the funds to pay for your purchase in one payment. Their lay-away is three months. Good buys can be found if you look for them. One thing I don't care for though is the large number of cleaned coins they offer.

Good people, good auction house. I've bought and sold through Great Collections and had nothing but positive experiences.

EDIT: P.S. This topic should be moved to Auction | ebay, eCrater, Heritage, Paypal, etc.

Add my name to the list of satisfied customers. As a variety collector I really like their photography and supersized pics. It's not like ebay at the end. There is a wait period of at least five minutes after the last bid before the auction closes. No sniping!

I've been considering consigning a few coins with them. Looks like buyers are happy which generally means lower prices. BH1964 has been satisfied with sales so that implies after fees it's at least close to what would be realized after selling fees elsewhere. How do sale prices compare with ebay?

That's a tough question. On common, low-value widgets, ebay might be your best bet. GC has a lot to offer the consignor though. Their fees are low and they seem to realize very good hammer prices on most series'.

GC has no hidden fees and you can set your reserve price with up to 5 re-lists being free if your item is unsold.
