I really think this is not appropriate for a TPG to put on its labels. Ranked 46th for how long? Remember the 50-D Nickle. Subject to change. Then what, your stuck with a label that's out of date or not true. Or will NGC change the label at no charge? Lets have some comments on how you feel about this junk on the labels. edgman

Well, it does have the edition on it, so if the rank changes between editions, the label would still be accurate for the edition listed. But having more or different stuff on the label is a cheap way for the TPG to make more money without doing anything really different, and provides an extra marketing point for people who don't really know a lot about coins. So long as you trust the other parts of the label the extra junk doesn't really matter that much.

@jrffrore, I was thinking the same thing as this is coin #191 on order form #3628412 out of ? coins (most likely 500 piece box)... The kicker is that most of these coins grade high, and if you need to sell you'll be lucky to receive a few dollars over spot...

I like a lot of the special labels like the flag labels for the State Quarters but the ranking one is just garbage. Its not a good idea and thats not even dealing with the fact that their rankings seem WAY off. ASEs the 46th most popular modern series, doubtful

After looking at your comments I also think it was made for one of the Home Shopping Networks by NCG as I recall seeing something similar as I was watching one show and wondering how people could pay those prices.

the ranking is based on this book- Interesting didnt know that thanks. I dunno what that books logic was but #2 2000 sacagewa really? I think youd be hard pressed to find a significant amount of people to agree with it http://coins.www.collectors-society...&Ranking=all

Is the #2 2000 Sac dollar the prototype reverse design? Or the Sacagawea mule?

Good question, cause how could that coin rank #2. In my opinion there are many other better designs.

#2 - 2000 SACAGAWEA DOLLAR/WASHINGTON QUARTER MULE. Not your ordinary Sacagawea...and pretty darn hard to acquire too!

I think anytime you see this type of thing from a TPG it is just a marketing gimmick to be able to rake in more money. The problem is that it must be working or they wouldn't keep trying to find different ways to make one coin unique over another of the same date/type and value

Just goes to show that TPG's will do anything to make a buck. My opinion is they ruined the hobby years ago. I've never had a coin slabbed, but, I've bought slabs and then cracked them open.
