Hi, I have this Philippines Proof Peso that has a detailed "stained designation" from NGC. I'm planning to submitt this to NCS. Do you think this can be save and put back its original proof luster? There's no surface hairline or scratches in this coin as I carefully examine. Because if NCS cannot do anything from this coin to conserved it, I'll do it my self trying to dip it with coin cleaner. I don't mind damaging the surface because its already damage. I just want to make it white and lustrous like the proof should be. Thank You

This is the actual coin

Probably not. But if you decide to try, first try an acetone bath. Acetone will eat any organic stuff off the surface without harming the coin like a corrosive dip can. If the acetone doesn't work and you still want to try to "improve" the coin, then try a quick dip.
