I found this silver coin today but I have no idea what it may be. There is not a date that I can see and I have never found a hammered before but thought I might get lucky. Can anybody help identify this coin? Thanks!

I found out what this is. Philippe IV le bel "the fair" was king of France. These coins were minted during his reign from 1285-1314. Obviously this is not a United Kingdom (Great Britain) coin but it may help others in identifying their coin(s).

Yep, its a Knights Templar Philip IV of France, check out here for details, its also quite a valuable little coin in the right condition

Herm, they call those on this page "knight templar" coins to sell them, they have nothing to do with the templars (except maybe the fact that they are from the same period)
This one is called a Gros Tournois - the smaller denomination are called Demi Gros (half Gros).
I'm not a specialist at all - but from what I saw on ebay it should be worth around 100USD.
