By good I mean silver coins, gold, rings jewelery etc.
Ive had my detector now for almost 2 weeks and I would say I've put at least 20 hours on it. Finding common change, quarter machine rings and what not. And all of them, especially the modern coins I seem to find at 2". Sometimes 4" but. I was asking how deep do you guys find your silver dimes, quarters etc?
I just hope my ACE 150 is at least good enough to detect a dime at 6+

I have found silver dimes less than 2 inches down. I just found a silver ring that was only 3 inches down. I found an 1895 Quarter that was about 6 inches down not too long ago.

Part of it depends on what part of at country you are in too. If you have a lot of fluctuating tempatures like I do in Idaho you may find some odd results. I've seen objects work themselves out of the ground before with the freezes and thaws. Also seen things get down deeper than you would have thought possible.

Interesting. I live in Michigan. So it gets very cold in the winter and decently warm in the summer.
I run my sensitivity at 2 out of 4. Should I turn it up? Will that give me better depth?

i am sorry for using the metric system: most and best finds are located between 20 and 25 cm. in my years of detecting, there were a lot of silvercoins but no goldcoins.
best coin was a saxon taler I think.

Nice erkle. Ill have to turn my sensitivity up to 3 and hit up some of the places on my list. See how it goes. Hard to believe there isn't more coins deeper than 2 to 4" inches. Silver or not

I run my sensitivity at 2 out of 4. Should I turn it up? Will that give me better depth? Im in Mich too, southern part. I run my ML a 95% full sensitivity, to get that xtra bit of depth. This also gives me more "false" iron hits. I also run 90% gain, and use an iron "mask" feature. I go into areas where lower end detectors have dominated, and just kill the old coins and silver at depths of 5-10"

Thanks fistful. Sounds like your MD is much more technical than mine. I have 4 sensitivity levels with 3 discrim modes. Lol. Works for me I guess.
Next year I am definitely looking into a better one.
