OK you guys have me looking to get away from my Dansco 7070 and into slabs for my "Type Set". Need to know what kind of slabs! Only kind I can find that makes all different sizes is the " Coin World Premier Coin Holders". Are these the best or what other choices do I have. Are they the same size as TPG slabs as I have a few type coins that are PCGS and NGC. Wont have to crack any slabs that way. Still a little pricey this way. Need some help on this. Thanks in advance.

For self slabbing raw coins the Coin World Premier Coin Holders is the way to go. They are really your only choice if you want a slab clone. They are the same size and even stack with current PCGS slabs. These slabs are $1 each and look nice! I have my type set in them and a combination of PCGS and NGC slabs in NGC slab boxes.

Remember to pick up some NGS slab boxes as they are the only ones that work with both PCGS, Coin World Premier Slabs and NGC slabs.

I used EXCEL (where my type set inventory is kept) to easily make labels for the Coin World holders that look very similar to the PCGS labels.

Hope this helps. I like this solution for a type set, hope you do too!

I think that is a type and he means NGC slab boxes not NGS. This could be a bit of a problem though as I believe NGC no longer sells the boxes and I don't know if they still ship coins back in them. The boxes available on the secondary market may be all that are left available and they are disappearing. Can anyone answer the question, does NGC still ship coins back in the boxes?

all of my NGC graded coins have come back in the cardboard box with inserts. I think if you had 20 coins coming back they used to ship in the plastic boxes but I haven't seen anyone receive them that way for some time

Check my dollars thread I just posted. Those are the slabs to use IMO.

And these are the albums for slabs

I have a bunch of the NGC and PCGS boxes I picked up at a club auction. They have the NGC boxes for sale on The Coin Vaults site, so I imagine they are still being made.

I just donated 2 NGC and 5 PCGS boxes to the local thrift shop. Takes up to much space in the safe deposit box. See a lot of them at various shops.
