The fields on this one are really, really clean, and it still has a tiny bit of mint luster left.

Were the dies really worn on some of these?

San Fran tended to over-use the reverse dies, weakness is somewhat common.

In this era the wheat ears on our left tended to be really mushy. I have seen MANY MS coins with almost no detail in the left ear.
