I almost bid on this, fortunately I had drunk enough of my coffee this morning before realizing it was too good to be true. Weird to have only the packaging and odd that a "shop" is trying to sell it, and for that much? wow.

Now why would someone buy that packaging and the COA of a coin you don't have for 80?

I've seen the envelope for the 20 for 20 polar bear go for more than 20$.

kenney,
The person who owns the coin and wants to return it to its original home.
The idea is not at all ridiculous, but the price is way out of line.

I have bought original packaging for coins or sets that I've picked up at a good price because they were missing the original packaging. Some people have delusional ideas on the value of packaging alone though, especially for modern stuff!

I have wondered myself if there was a market for COA's with a low or special #'s. (i.e. if the COA # was 2012 for the 1/2 oz silver penny, would someone pay a premium for that particular COA?) My guess is yes, but I haven't really seen any listings for such items.
