Posted yesterday in the Classic coin forum regarding the problems I'm having deciding if this is proof like or DMPL...or none of the above.

Staring myself silly at the darn coin, and I can't really put a grade to it due to its toning.

can you guys help? And would you consider it PL or DMPL?

thanks

I don't think this coin is either PL or DMPL.

Could you post some pictures showing how reflective it is? For example; holding the coin 90 degrees to some newsprint.

thing is, the toning ruins much of the reflective sufaces...I can read normal newsprint from about 6 inches away, but only on a few places of the coin due to the toning...So I wonder if the PL-ness is lost because of that, or could it still get a PL grading...IF it is PL, that is.

It's not like any other morgan I own, it stands out among the rest. Not even my highest ms coins show the same level of reflection....and that is through the toning. Hard to explain by using pictures, need to have it in your hand in order to understand what I'm trying to explain
