Opinions on this set? There are pics in another thread but I though this set deserves it's own discussion and I didn't see one. From pictures, the set looks awesome and the 1 oz alone could easily be resold for 120-150 based on other special SML's. Mintage is just 9999 (get it? ). How cool would it be to get COA 9999?! I think this one is a winner and can't wait for it to arrive. My only "complaint" is that the box could have been nicer - like the 5 penny set. Interesting that Canada Post lists it as unavailable (first day posted on their website) while the Mint still has stock. Whatcha think?

Well, the pictures were mine and I'll post them here, to dedicated thread.
The mintage is really interesting : 9999, and I think it in order to highlight the purity of silver content in all the set. I've got the COA with average 2xxx number.
Agree with you about the presentation box - it is generic and a bit bulky. Prefer to pay extra, but to have the well made wooden case.
Design: The double dated obverse (1988 - 2013) is perfect, also the "reverse-proof" finish looks very good, specially under yellow (not fluorescent) light. But the maple leaf itself...it is good, but IMO, the main leaf alone, without 2 small leafs attached to the bottom, could look much interesting.
Anyway, something fresh and new. In overall - liked much this set. Great addition to any collection, specially to Maple Leafs collection.
*** the smallest coin has denomination value 1 dollar almost as the value of it's silver content (1/20 oz)

I picked up the set, I really like the older queen's portrait.
It hasn't made it on the best seller list, but I think that's because people don't think they can re sell it. I think anything silver maple related always do well in the long run.
Not that it'll matter because this ones not going anywhere.

I don't like the three leaves design. it's totally unnecessary to add two small leaves there, the single leaf design on SML is much cleaner and more elegant. re-sale potential? compare it with 2010 piedfort maple leaf, reverse proof as well mintage 9000.

I wish the US would do fractional silver coins too.

Thanks Adorus,
when started to search for the coins images on the forum, realized that they "describe" coin / set better than pictures on the web stores.
Why not to share? May be the real look of the coins will help to someone to make decision to buy it or not...

To me the design resembles a birds eye view of a frog. Does anyone else see this?

Rockdaddy, why did you say this?
Now, while looking on this maple leaf design I see the frog...only the frog.
Please return us Maple Leaf back!
But I still like it, and the obverse is perfect.

Like SilverBug, I compare the 2013 Anniversary Maple Leaf with 2010 Piedfort Maple Leaf. See by yourself:

is it the 2010 piedfort coin double thick of 1/2oz normal maple leaf?

Yes, Piedfort SML is double thick compares to the 1/2 oz SML coin. And Piedfort SML vs 1oz regular SML - the difference is not such big, but the Piedfort is more "balanced" in the hand.
