Good day all! I was searching through some 1965 rolls when I noticed 4 coins out of 50 had a double legend on the obverse! I have heard this is common with Canadian coins but the Interesting thing was each one has a die clash on the reverse right above the stems of the leaves under the right side leaf! Wish I had a good camera but I will try to upload pics soon. Has anyone noticed this die clash that seems to accompany the double legend or did I just discover a new variety! Also seems to be only on the small bead variety so far!

Thank

I don't think that is a die clash. Could be a tool damage or something though, I'm not sure what.

You may be right! It's a little deeper and thicker than a die clash! So maybe a tool mark in the die! I think the community forum should have a table at the nuphilex show in Montreal next month!

Hi JeyRey. Does your 1965 have any other die clash/tool marks on it? It's kind of in the same general area as a die clash being caused by the queen's ear, but without any jawline or neckline clash marks I'd be tempted to look at other reasons for the mark. And it does get me thinking that I'd best be looking out for an example for my own collection, too!

I will try to get some good pictures of the entire coin! Also try to point out any other issues!
