Dr. Houck produced a potient he called "Houck's Panacea" in the 1830-'s -1850's that he claimed would cure all types of ailments. It was composed of "vegetable matter" and probably alcohol. He stamped mostly bust halves and some bust quarters and foreign silver coins with his counterstamp. About 100 pieces are known to exist. Very cool! It would be even better if you found the bottle/box that the product came in, that would make a great display!
