Hey guys! So, I recently bought 5 Victoria Large Cents off ebay. The dates are 1859, 1876, 1882, 1892, and 1894. I'm far from a Large Cent expert, so I'm just wondering your guyes opinions. Are these real? The ebay seller seems rather reputable. Feedback score off 5578, and 100% positive. However, he will not accept returns for this item. He guaranteed them genuine. I paided 25.00 USD for these, plus 3.99 USD for shipping. Came to around 30 dollars Canadian after paypal fees. Are these coins faked at all in general? I don't see them being a popular fake, since they are rather common and not worth very much. However, all these coins seem in rather good shape and condition for being so old (especially the 1859). The 1859 has fairly detailed hair (I know that most casting fakes don't have very strong details), however, the coin does not appear to be perfectly circular. Also, the strike seems to be off-center (bottom right quarter of the rim appears thicker then the rest). Plus, the 1859 is about two thirds the thickness (and lighter) then the other four coins. Thoughts? Ps. Sorry for the slightly blurry pictures. The detail isn't quite as worn off as they look in the photos. PPs. If these coins do happen to be real, what variety of the 1859 would you say this is? 1859: 1859: 1876: 1876: 1882: 1882: 1892: 1892: 1894: 1894: Thanks for looking! They look good to me, although I would never say I'm an expert in Copper.

There doesn't appear to be any signs that these coins might be 'fakes' but you can go to this website and make comparisons for yourself - http://coinsandcanada.com/Also, the NGC site will give you the composition, weight and diameter for these coins - http://www.ngccoin.com

Coins appear authentic, also keep in mind that counterfeiters will never make inexpensive/common coins. they usually counterfeit the expensive $1,000.00 + Key dates. Glenn

The 1859 looks fine. Just changed the degree a bit.

They look fine to me also, and approx $6.00 each may have been a bit much.

Man, some people will counterfeit anything they can get their hands on. Thanks for sharing Dan!

I'm more then two thirds done! :D
