Just curious as most are regular stackers here.

I know some months probably vary, based on price of silver, disposable income and financial strains....

Anyways, what do you try to average on a typical month?

As many as I can possibly afford but nowhere near as many as I'd like to buy. I only started stacking silver when the price was around $24, and I should have started doing this many years ago. I blew it, but as the old saying goes, "Hindsight is always 20/20."

Unfortunately, my budget only allows 4-6 oz. per month. It's money that if I literally flushed it down the toilet, I wouldn't miss it.

I just started in June of this year. I buy with no intention of selling for at least 20+ years. It's my savings plan. I do not view it as an investment.

So for me........I hope for big drops in price.

Well this line really hits it on the nose....higher prices = less ounces bought and vice versa..... but, to answer your question, based on my stack size and timeline from when I started...I add 4-6oz a month. as for goals, I would like to average 1oz a week, but making that average happen when I feel were in a price dip and buy more.

How does everyone obtain their silver? If you buy it through a mint then doesn't the shipping costs really add-up or do you bulk-order to keep that down? Maybe you buy from local dealers?

Financeguru-

I buy through goldmart.com - either 90% junk/buffalo rounds and sometimes ASE's Phils or Leafs. Also bought a few Bars.

I used to buy from Silvertowne as there shipping is free on select items, however there stuff has a hefy premium.

I also have made a few craigslist purchases.

I'm with TripN, I buy at least 25-50 ounces a month on average with a max of 2-300 on a big dip.

I shoot for 10 a month but lately I've only been at about 5. Between the latest PM spike and the fact my wife was laid off her job. Its getting harder and harder to buy. I'm still pickin at it slowly but come spring time I plan on making a 20 to 30 oz order. Regardless of AG prices :)

20 - 30 oz per month on an average. Sometimes I get some good deal and spend more. I buy mostly on ebay and CL.

I like to buy big on the dips and not at all at other times, so my silver buys are all over the place, time-wise. I buy a few coins and ASEs locally and my bigger buys on-line. On average, though, about 60-65 oz. per month.

FinanceGuru,

I buy my buillion ASE/MLs etc at local coin shops for about $4 over spot. I get junk 90% at the same shops basically for spot or about 0.50 over spot.

When buying mint products, I walk about 10 blocks from my office to the Philly mint and buy there. In fact, I just got my SF Proof/Reverse proof set there a little while ago. Saves on shipping!

I try to buy as much as I can afford, usually 10-20 oz's. I am in it for the long haul so I wouold love to see spot price get back to the $10 range so I can buy more per month.

About 3/4s an ounce, it trickles in slowly for below spot.

Pretty good for still being in high school with a $10/week allowance
