Does anyone know what type of coin is used in the pre- game coin toss?

I understand a specially made coin is used for the SuperBowl. Do these ever go up for sale?

I saw one on TV today but couldn't identify it. It was large and silver-like.

I also learned you can get a replica SuperBowl Coin: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006Z...44951&sr=8-1

Superbowls have specially made coins, I'm sure the league either keeps them or gives them as a honor. Its possible they could come up for sale but the price would probably keep most people away. The NFC and AFC championship may have a special coin too. As far as other games probably a quarter or something theres no official rule on what kind of coin it has to be just that it have a heads and tails side

I thought I had once seen a morgan used but I wouldn't count on it.

I remember seeing a quarter used in a game a few years back.

For what year was the first specially made Super Bowl tossed?
My guess is that it would have been less than 20 years ago.
