Which do you prefer and why: Dansco or Whitman or Other?

Most on here will say Dansco. They do make nice albums that are fairly durable. Intercept shield make nice ones too, especially for the type set that Dansco no longer produces and has been updating for years. Most of mine are Dansco and I do like them, but I have the Intercept type set that has a few more modern coins in it

Honestly it can be whatever you like about the company, but just say what you buy from that company and why you get it from that company.

Dansco for albums. Whitman for folders. I am not sure if Dansco still makes folders; but when they were common, I recall that they were not a varied as the Whitman. Why Dansco Albums? I moved from Whitman folders to Dansco albums when my Grandfather bought me two of them. I was ready to make the move from folders, but I was not sure what album I wanted (although I was probably thinking of Whitman in my mind). The coin shop we went to sold Dansco, so that is what I got. I liked them enough to stick with them for almost 28 years now.

Alright, since I am new-ish to collecting what would be the best album for me to get? Or should I get folders?

To me it really depends on what kind of coins you have. If you have average grade coins you want to look over I would say Dansco. If you have high grade coins I would say none. Putting coins in albums or folders might tone the coins and may end up damaging them.

Right now I have all my coins in 2x2s so I was thinking of getting 2x2 pages and putting those in a binder. What do you think about that?

It is not a bad idea. It is inexpensive, but actually more flexible than the fixed spaces in a normal album.
For what it is worth, Dansco has a page that holds twelve 2x2s. I have a few Dansco albums with these 2x2 pages; for example, all of my foreign coins are housed this way.

We being me. I want them so that I can see the quality of the pages.

That reminds me. Wizard has some 20-pocket 2x2 pages, but I don't remember what brand they were.

Then those 20 pocket pages are what you want. They will fit any three-ring binder from Walmart, Target, OfficeMax, etc. Of course you will want to get a better binder for the long term.
