Im looking for a package of dansco slides for the Presidential dollar Album and the BU ASE Album. I cant seem to find them anywhere and was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sold them.

I have found the State Quarter ones but they arent the same, but it looks like I might have to order than and just make it work

I've never seen the slides sold by themselves for any of the albums.I have, in the past, gone to Hobby Lobbby and bought acetate sheets and cut them to spec.

I bought some directly from Dansco in 1996. I am not sure if they still want to deal directly with people, but it is worth a try.

I recently contacted Dansco about some scratched slides that came in my new Eisenhower album. After a number of follow-up emails they did send me out some replacement slides free of charge. From my experience they will work with you, it will just take longer than you think to complete the transaction. I would try contacting them first.

You could always just buy replacement pages to get the slides. Depending on how many you need this could get costly.

Ngs when you contacted them did you call first or email? Off the top of my head I believe I would need about 5 pages in terms of slides either being damaged or missing. I do have extra slides at the moment from my ATB Quarter album, but if I pieced it out like that I would run into the same problem in the future.

I emailed them at danscocorp@aol.com.

Looking back at my emails it took about 2.5 months for then to get me the slides. They responded back 2 days after my first email (stating they would send them out), but then no communication for about 2 months after that and no slides in the mail. I emailed them about every 2 weeks and placed a few phone calls to them which were never answered.

I love their product, but customer service leaves something to be desired.

Some time back I had similar problems with my Whitman Classic Albums. Slides were all getting scratched and somehow I lost a few. I emailed Whitman, sent a letter and no answer. Finally called and was told they do not sell separate slides for any albums. After a while of pleading, they asked which ones I needed and I told them. A week later I got a pile of them of all different sizes free.
I wonder if it would be worth it to try Hobby Lobby for those plastic sheets and make your own. Not sure but from what some others have told me Dansco, Littleton and other just do not sell separate plastic slides for their Albums.
Whitman said just not enough of a market to carry such minor items.

Just an update. I emailed Dansco and still havent heard back from them so might need to get a little more creative with it. I was able to find slides for a State Quarter album but unfortunately trying mine in the ASE and Presidential dollar album before ordering revealed that they are sized much differently.

May not work but if you try a lot of used book stores, Salvation Army and Goodwill stores, you may find some old used Albums. If cheap enough, the slides could be cut to fit.

Thats not a bad idea, unfortunately we dont really have those stores close to me.

Got a response from Dansco finally. Theyll ship slides for any album for 5 dollars if you send them the money and a letter for the album you want.

Also not sure how true it is but heard from a dealer the owner of Dansco has gotten into other ventures which take up most of his time and Dansco is no longer his priority which is causing a lot of the delays and one of the reasons the 7070 update hasnt come out

I have found whole Dansco albums at my local Coin Dealers in a Free bun. Just got a Dansco Lincoln Cent with all but 1 slide. Very gently used I might add. I have found other Albums as well. I got a quarter album and used it for extra slides. Check it out it might help

If you are unable to source pre-cut slide inserts, you can fashion your own by purchasing a pack of cellulose acetate transparency sheets from an office supply store.

Interesting. I never thought of that. And some office supply stores sell those sheets by the box. I've purchased them in the past with 100 sheets to a box.

jokongjoker and biokemist have a much-less-hassle way of solving the problem. This is what I plan on doing for a few of my albums. These sheets are inexpensive.
