I was wanting to get everyones opinion on how much this list would be worth because I have no clue when it comes to world coins.
1997 50p, Common as it was the first year when the current format was issued.
1997 10p, Not a rare issue
1997, Gibraltar 50p, 5 bottleneck dolphins around '50'. Rarity to find in england, all my commemoratives are from circulation - these should only circulate on the little outcrop of rock we call ours.
1997 Balliwick of Guensey 50p, flower design.
1997 Balliwick of Jersey 50p, Ruins Design.
1997 Isle of Man 50p, Motorcycle design.
1997 Balliwick of Jersey £1, quite a rare one over there too, apparently, - Ship design.
1997 Ascension Island 1p, Fish design.
1997 Spain 50 Ptas, pre Euro currency.
1997 Spain 100 Ptas.
1997 Ecuador, 500 'Quinientos Sucres'
And a lovely 1997 French 10 Centimes, also Pre Euro

I can't answer for all but....

1997 50p, worth 50p
1997 10p, worth 10p
1997, Gibraltar 50p, worth 50p
1997 Balliwick of Guensey 50p, flower design.
1997 Balliwick of Jersey 50p, Ruins Design.
1997 Isle of Man 50p, Motorcycle design.
1997 Balliwick of Jersey £1, quite a rare one over there too, apparently, - Ship design.
1997 Ascension Island 1p, Fish design.

All worth face value, sure they are not that common in the UK but I think nothing here would go for much more. You might get a little more on ebay for a few of these if someone is really interested, but I doubt it.

1997 Spain 50 Ptas, pre Euro currency. Probably worth about 20p
1997 Spain 100 Ptas. Worth about 40p

The 50 ptas coin is Juan de Herrera, some of these 50 ptas coins are worth more than others, but I think this one is not worth that much more than face, which is 20p UK.
The 100 ptas coin is the royal theatre and was quite common in circulation, so was worth 100 ptas , which was about 40p.

1997 Ecuador, 500 'Quinientos Sucres' I don't know about this one.

About $5, if someone wants to pay that much for them.

Alright. I am wanting to start a 1997 set because that is when I was born. I think the person who is sending me them was trying to rip me off. I will still send them something, but it will not be what I was going to. We had not agreed on anything yet, so I will send maybe one Mercury dime.

If the coins augsburger mentions are legal tender in the UK, and your trading partner sent them from over there, that equates to about $5-6 is US dollars. It also cost about that much just to mail them across the ocean.

Even if you consider them 'junk' coins, those are often valued at $0.10-0.50 each if you bought from a dealers junk bin.

You haven't given enough information about what the trade was, but I think you will create badwill if you lowball on the return. You shouldn't assume malice or deception on the other side if there are other explanations. After all, they sent the coins! That alone shows some goodwill on their part.

Where is your trading partner from?
Did you choose these coins ahead of time or did you not know what you might receive?
What were you thinking of trading before you were disappointed?
What do you think they are expecting?

I am actually perfectly fine with our deal. I will still send him some 90%silver coins when I get more. I was just a little mad that he sort of lied to me. It is all fine now. I will have what I want and he will have what he wants. Everything works out well.
