Funny you should be keeping score, because I do keep score: 545-27 B.C. => 44 Greek coins 105-58 BC => 7 Roman Republic 37-375 A.D. => 35 coins Roman Coins 558-1599 A.D. => 2 coins (1 Byzantine & 1 Medieval) ... ummm, I'd really have to think about which is which in the transition zones ... "but overall", I think that I'm fairly evenly spread ... but I will take your request into consideration, echizento (I think one of the twelve Caesars might be on-deck?) ... thanks for noticing "and loving it!!"

Thanks for the coin-comments, gang ...
Ummmm, not so "rich" ... I just like to spend my spare-cash on my collection (the wife also collects things, so it isn't as confrontational as you might expect) ... luckily

I agree with Steve that this is a loser. Send it to me for disposal. ;) Its big fault is the lack of reverse legend which appears in several different manners on various coins but I suspect was right of the eagle's head in this case. The caduceus is not the only possible choice for a minor type on these and has nothing to do with the snake being eaten. If you want an interesting challenge for research look into how we moderns ended up with the medical symbol being the two snaked staff when the ancient version was Aesculapius' single snake model.
FWIW: Greek coins make up almost exactly 10% of my total collection. Looking at your numbers, what I see missing other than a bunch of Romans would be civilizations that are neither Greek or Roman. Many of the better ones would be in the medieval range but there are definitely ancient coins that need love, too.

Why do some people show the eagle horizontally and others show it vertically? What is the real die axis for these types.

dougsmit => yes I agree, it is too bad that my coin doesn't have the reverse legend (but I guess you can't have it all, unless you're willing to wait ... plus, the price seems to go up exponentially for the coins that have got it all) ... I'm not exactly sure what the legend means, but it seems to be "XAV" (where the V is actually an upside-down V => delta maybe?) Doucet => I'm pretty sure that the die axes is 9h (which I'm assuming is like 9 o'clock positioning on a clock, right?) Eng5858 => ummmm, what is your first Greek coin? (I can't recall the thread? ... or has there been a thread yet?) => thanks again for everybody's comments, critiques and comradery!!
