Hello, I just purchased this Seated Liberty dollar for my type set for a little south of $200. Wanted to know how you would grade this coin, and if it can/should it be certified? Thanks

Looks to be in Very Good condition and surfaces look original. It sounds like you got a good deal. I wouldn't pay for PCGS or NGC certification because of the cost but if you can take advantage of an ANACS special their certification would only be about $15. That would confirm authenticity which is the biggest problem with Seated dollars.

I'd check the weight, make sure it passes the magnet test, and inspect the edge for hidden damage. If everything looks OK you can just enjoy having this very nice coin!

Pics are a bit small but it looks like you got a good deal. I agree with Jaobler that certification is not necessary, particularly if you can authenicate it yourself.

It appears to be VG at least with a shot at Fine and is worth about $300 if it is F12 and problem-free.

You dollar looks real from what I can see.
Also looks to be F-12 to me. But coins are hard to grade from
smaller photos.
I think you got a good deal and I would hang onto this one.
