We were going to have new contest each week. Members are invited to sponser (provide the prize & quiz) a contest each week.
It seems like we have been falling behind, So I'll take the lead and sponser a new one.
Prize Sydney 2000 Olympic Coin & Pin Set Pin is baseball series # 21 0f 28 Coin is AU $5.00 Sydney Olympic (My digital camera is in for repair so I am sorry I cannot post a picture).
Feel free to email the answers to me. If you post them here everyone will copy your answer.
In case of a tie,The correct answers will have the names put into a hat (Akubra) & a drawing will take place to select the final winner Contest closes June 10th at Midnight Eastern Daylight Savings USA
Now the Question of the week This one may not be easy. The Question starts out with Australian History but it is NOT about Australian coins!
In early Australian History up to the year 1787 the year of the First Fleet coins called the Guineas were very popular with the Well to do crowd. 1 Why was it called a Guinea?
2 The coin bore the letters M.B.F.ET.H.REX.F.D.B.ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T.ET.E. What does this inscription stand for and what does it translate to?
Good Luck.

Thank you, I had a blast with this one! At about 1 AM last night my wife looked at me and goes, "What have you been doing over there for more than 2 hours?!" I laughed and responded, "You don't want to know." She was smart enough to just sy "ok" and then let it go. I finally finished my research this morning, and like I said, I enjoy a good chase and this definately was challenging! Since I don't speak Latin I just hope I didn't make any silly spelling errors or anything.
