I bought a Whitman album to do a set of Canadian pennies, but I'm not sure if they were only minted at one mint, or several like US coins. Does anyone know how many mints put out Canadian pennies? Thanks in advance!

Circulation coins are minted in Winnipeg. Collector coins are minted in Ottawa.

Follow-up questions:
1. Do they have specific mint marks or other differentiating characteristics?
2. Is it worth my time/effort to make a slot for the collectors coins in the album as well, or are these sold in sets like US proof sets?

The older coins were all made at the Ottowa mint until abouut 20-30 years ago. There are no mint marks (with a couple exceptions) so unless you want to but the collector ones, I don't see the point.

Most of the collectors coins are sold in sets. Variously identified as Uncirculated (these days just grabbed out of the bin), Proof-Like, Specimen and Proof.

p.s. For 1998 and later there are various combinations of mint marks found underneath the Queen's head. Also, some years are found as magnetic or non-magnetic depending on whether copper plated zinc or steel blanks were used. See http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...nt-1965-2012 for a complete list. The various mint mark possibilities are W indicating the Winnipeg mint, P indicating Plated, the RCM Logo and no mint-mark. In 1997 coins were minted at both the Ottawa and Winnipeg mints but no mint marks were used to distinguish which were which. The only way to tell is with the Proof Like sets where the coins are packaged in a different order. When the Polar Bear is at the top, the Ottawa sets have the 50 Cent coin at the left, and the 1 Dollar coin at the right. The Winnipeg sets have the Dollar coin at the left, and the 50 Cent coin at the right.

So, I found a paralympics quarter about 2 weeks ago. Was this a part of one of these sets?

I think I know What you mean DBM. "P and Logo are not mint marks" I agree. As far as I know the only mint mark you will find is a W.Right?
