Hello! I'm hoping I could get some help identifying a coin I found. I went to Antalya in Turkey this summer and found a tiny coin in the ocean. The coin is a bit damaged, but the inscriptions are still pretty visible and clear, though I'm having a bit of a hard time identifying the language on it. Nevertheless, it shows a man riding on a horse on the one side and a quite large "1" on the other. I doubt it's ancient due to the time it has spent in the sea, but I'm quite curious to know more about it.

I uploaded a few pictures of the coin here:http://imgur.com/a/QAu9T

I've been looking at a few websites to see if I could find some info on it, but haven't had any luck yet. A little help with identification would be much appreciated!

There's not much left of it, but there's enough to make out that it is indeed a coin and even what it originally was: a modern Russian 1 kopek. Originally, it would have looked more like this.

The backwards-facing "N" was the clue that the inscription was in the Cyrillic alphabet; the horse meant either Russia or Bulgaria were possibilities. From there, it was easy to find.

Sap: Thank you so much, it's nice to finally find out what it is and where it's from! Actually it does make sense that the coin is Russian; the place I went to was packed with Russian tourists, so I should have figured!

Vermontensium: Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it here. Being a Dane, it makes me proud!

Windchild: Thank you very much! :)

Wow, that is cool. Surprised the salt water didn't eat it up.
